Godswill

La maison

We make forty of a thing, then we stop.

Godswill started from a simple frustration: almost everything on the rail is made to a price, in a quantity nobody needs, in a colour chosen by a spreadsheet. We wanted the opposite — a short list of pieces you would actually reach for, made properly, in the one colour that never argues with anything else you own.

So the collection is three styles. A tee with enough weight to hold its shape. A shirt that works open or buttoned. A pant that reads as tailoring but moves like everyday wear. All black, all regular fit, all finished by the same hands.

Each style is made forty pieces at a time. That constraint is the whole point. Forty is small enough that we can inspect every seam and refuse a roll of cloth that isn't right, and small enough that we're never tempted to keep making something after it has stopped being good.

Your hang tag carries your number out of forty. It's yours, and nobody else has it.

Cloth first

We choose the fabric before we choose the price, and we pay for the better roll.

Cut clean

Regular fit, honest proportions. No trend that dates in a season.

Made to last

Reactive-dyed blacks and taped seams, so the hundredth wash looks like the first.
